Bidaful (“Bidaful,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Bidaful mobile application and related services (the “Service”), a marketplace that connects homeowners (“Customers”) with independent service professionals (“Pros”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Account details: name, email address, mobile phone number, password, and role (Customer or Pro).
- Profile details: nickname, photo, service categories, years of experience, bio, and service area (Pros); default address (Customers).
- Job details: job descriptions, categories, reference photos, scheduling preferences, messages and questions exchanged with the other party, and completion photos.
- Pro verification: certificate of insurance and related policy details; background-check status.
- Payment details: payment card or bank-account information is collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card or bank-account numbers.
Information collected automatically:
- Device and usage information such as app version, device type, operating system, and basic diagnostic and crash data.
- Approximate location derived from a job’s address, used to show Pros the general area of a job before it is accepted.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
- To match jobs with Pros, and facilitate bids, scheduling, messaging, and job completion.
- To process payments, holds, refunds, cancellation fees, and payouts through Stripe.
- To send you account and job notifications (see “Text messaging” below).
- To verify Pro insurance and eligibility.
- To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with law.
- To improve the Service and troubleshoot problems.
3. Text messaging (SMS)
When you create an account you provide your mobile number and agree to receive account and job-related text messages from Bidaful. These messages are transactional service notifications only — for example: a Pro proposed, confirmed, or re-proposed a scheduled time; a reminder before a scheduled job; a notice that a Pro is running late or did not arrive; and payment confirmations or alerts. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
- Message frequency varies based on your job activity.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out of text messages at any time, and HELP for assistance.
- Opting out of text messages will not delete your account, but you may miss time-sensitive job information.
No mobile information — including your phone number and your SMS opt-in — is shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent is not shared with third parties.
4. How we share information
- Between Customers and Pros: limited profile information, job details, messages, and — after a bid is accepted — contact facilitation and address information necessary to complete the job.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Twilio (text messaging and masked calling), and similar vendors that process data on our behalf under contract.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bidaful, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for third-party marketing.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Your choices
- Update most profile information in the app.
- Reply STOP to opt out of text messages.
- Contact us to request access to or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the app or on this page with a new effective date.
